About these terms

These terms cover your use of the EM Field Guide app and this website. EM Field Guide is published by E2C2 Pte Ltd, a company in Singapore, under the brand Polanyi Works. By using the app you agree to these terms.

If you download the app from the Apple App Store, Apple's standard End User License Agreement also applies. You can read Apple's standard EULA. If these terms and the standard EULA conflict, the EULA wins for the Apple parts it covers.

Using the app

EM Field Guide helps you prepare for work conversations. You can browse without an account. You need to sign in to store your own content, such as rehearsals. See the privacy policy for what we collect.

Subscriptions and purchases

• Paid plans. Some features need a paid plan. The price and length are shown in the app before you buy.
• Payment. Apple or Google takes the payment through your store account. We never see your card details.
• Auto-renewal. A subscription renews on its own at the end of each period until you cancel. Your store charges the renewal to your account.
• How to cancel. Cancel in your App Store or Google Play subscription settings, at least 24 hours before the period ends. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription. We cannot cancel it for you.
• Free trial. If a plan offers a free trial, the app says so and says how long it lasts. When the trial ends, the paid plan starts unless you cancel first. A trial can be used once.
• Lifetime purchase. A lifetime purchase is a one-time payment that unlocks the paid features for as long as we offer the app. It is tied to your store account.
• Promo codes. A promo code may give a discount or free access for a set time. Each code has its own end date and can be changed or withdrawn. Codes have no cash value.
• Refunds. Apple and Google handle refunds under their own rules. Ask your store.
• Restore. You can restore past purchases in the app under Settings, then Plans. See support.

AI-generated content

AI-generated replies can be wrong, unrealistic or unfair. The characters in rehearsals are made up. Cases and debriefs are guidance for practice. Use your own judgment.

EM Field Guide is not legal, HR or medical advice. If a situation involves dismissal, a performance plan, discrimination, safety or health, talk to your HR team or a qualified professional.

Acceptable use

Please do not:

• break the law or use the app to harm, harass or deceive anyone;
• enter other people's confidential or personal information that you have no right to share;
• try to break, overload or get around the limits of the app or our services;
• copy, resell or scrape our cases and content;
• share a promo code or gift link in a way that is meant to abuse it.

We may limit or end access for a breach of these terms.

Your content and our content

You own what you write. You let us store and process it to run the app for you, as the privacy policy describes. We and our licensors own the app, the cases and the characters. You get a personal, non-transferable licence to use them.

Limits

The app is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, E2C2 Pte Ltd is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for decisions you make after using the app. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under law that cannot be limited.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Singapore. The courts of Singapore have jurisdiction, except where your local consumer law says otherwise.
